Understanding Behavior through the Sensory Processing and Attachment Lens

About this Course

Course Description

We are living in a different world today, with an ever increasing number of children struggling to make relational and behavioral sense of their world. Therapists, educators, social workers are finding that using one lens to look at behavior does not provide sufficient explanation and direction for addressing children's issues.

This workshop will discuss points of overlap between sensory processing and attachment difficulties. The importance of relationship and use of therapeutic sense of self will be highlighted in the multiple intervention strategies.

The participant will also gain tools to add to the sensory processing assessment that will assist in understanding attachment pieces through the evaluation process. The influence of trauma informed care will be included in the behavior and intervention strategies that will be provided.
